About Me

I'm a New Zealander who had one long, cold, dark winter too many and am now living in Sydney, Australia - practically the same country anyway. I also write for a local Wellington newspaper, CityLife, and have previously written the Mensa New Zealand monthly bulletin - some of the stuff here is based on what I've written for them.

In my spare time I play bridge. I also belong to the Brights, for those who hold naturalistic (as opposed to supernatural) world views.

The Site

Thanks for visiting Eternal Sunspots. It's an Australasian website, so all articles relate to New Zealand, Australian, global or general issues. Everything that you see is my strongly held view. I call it as I see it. I don't go out of my way to be politically incorrect or to upset, but I have no hesitation in doing so if the situation calls for it.

Once the site is up and running properly, there will be links to all the most recent articles in a box to the left, and all articles, even older ones, will be under both By Topic and Archive. Nothing will be deleted, so if something seems to be a bit outdated, please check the date.

This is not a blog. I'm not going to tell you about my weekend, the guy with BO who I sit next to on the bus or the cute girl I met yesterday. There's nothing too trivial on here. I won't complain about the new Facebook layout or the judging panel on American Idol. It's all (I hope) on topical and important subjects - or at least was when it was written.

In time I hope to open the floor to others and let you submit articles. (No submissions yet, please).
